The national competition for the “Rada Mihalcea” awards dedicated to young researchers in science and engineering, now in its ninth edition, in partnership with Cluj-Napoca City Hall and sponsors Emerson, Bet Fair, Yardy, NTT Data, awarded the Second Prize to Lecturer Dr. Vlad-Alexandru TOMA who is a member at the “3B” Center and tenured teacher in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. The prize was awarded for the research carried out in the biochemistry of oxidative stress, hypoxia, and participation in the development of carrier proteins for respiratory gases, as well as for the entire social and academic involvement that Dr. Vlad-Alexandru TOMA has carried out until now.
The competition brought together specialists from all over the country, from various fields, from materials science to research in the IT field, following the competition 3 prizes (I-III) and 3 certificates of participation were awarded. On July 31, in a festive setting, at the City Casino, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Rada Mihalcea, Mayor Emil Boc, and other officials, the prize-giving gala took place, where each laureate presented a brief description of the ideas put to work, the current research themes, also remembering the collaborators and mentors.
